An elegant historic venue, The River Room is endowed with elegance and beautiful décor. The River Room’s spacious ballroom provides a gracious setting for every gathering from corporate meetings and small conferences to special occasion parties and your dream wedding reception.  Our spacious ballroom comfortably seats 400+ guests but it can also be arranged to handle much smaller events. We also provide amenities like a private bride’s room, hardwood dance floor, and a full sound and presentation system.

Built in 1911, the H. L. Stout building was completely renovated and restored in 2008 to retain its historic character including the original brick walls and iron columns.  Fifty-four windows on the east and south facades of the 2nd floor are exact replicas of the original windows.  From the second floor ballroom, your guests can see the Fort Scott National Historic Site and Fort Scott’s Victorian Downtown.  The River Room is positioned to be the premier gathering destination in Southeast Kansas and Southwest Missouri.
